CANDIDATE STATEMENT

Hello. This is Carole Fiola, your current State Representative for the Sixth Bristol District.  One year ago, I was elected in a special election and since that time I have worked tirelessly on issues of concern to you as a resident in the Sixth Bristol District.

Throughout the last year, by eliminating taxes and without passing any new taxes, I have been able to use my experience and work with my colleagues to help pass significant legislation to improve the lives of the residents of Fall River and Assonet.  Whether it was an Economic Stimulus Bill, the passage of a $2.5 billion Transportation Bill for SouthCoast Rail, increasing funding for Fall River schools, enhancing benefits for our Veterans, passing a Welfare Reform bill and a Gun bill that protects us and 2nd Amendment rights, establishing a Drug Court in Fall River or securing funding for the City Pier and Braga Bridge lighting, I have worked hard to make sure that your voice and concerns were heard in Boston.
